Christmas Giveaway (A Present To Me)

It’s been quite some time since I wrote on my blog. I often get advice from friends regarding the biz side of things for The Goalie Therapist, saying that I gotta post regularly…blah blah blah:) But truth be told, I’ve been busy helping people. I also choose to write when I feel something and want to share it with people. Simple as that:)

And today is one of those days.

I recently did a Christmas Giveaway where I offered to give one person, a full year of working with me for FREE. All you had to do was submit your story as to why you felt you could use my help, and I would do a draw on New Years Day. I just wanted to do something nice for Christmas, cause I understand that not everyone can afford someone like me for help.

Well, when I started reading the emails, I was so very moved by every story, that I decided to pull out 10 more names and give a single session to those winners. Yesterday, I just finished my last single session with those 10 people… and this is why I’m back on the blog and writing:)

All of the stories and sessions are private, so I’m not on to discuss any of that. But what I do want to share, is how all of the people moved me, helped me learn, and gave me a clarity and perspective that I am very thankful for. Even as I write this, I am thinking new ways of helping coach and counsel.

Of the 11 winners, only one was hockey related, which was a huge eye opener to me. I’ve helped some people outside the game, but not to this degree. From this, I have gotten to see how much these past few years have affected people in so many different ways. The loss of friends and family, and the divide that has been created. The loss of jobs, and not being able to support your family. The loss of marriage and relationships. And maybe the most prevalent, the loss of your own identity and the path you wanted to be on.

All of the shit that has been going on in the world can be absolutely overwhelming, and I get it. But I’m here to tell you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and a whole community of people that understand what you are going through and have your back… me being one of them:) Do not let the outside shit decide for you where you should be in life and the path you should be on.

I just want to thank all of the people that I worked with from the Christmas Giveaway and all the people that submitted their stories. It was the best Christmas gift I could have gotten.

Thank You.

Peace & Love To You All In 2023.
